On Saturday, April 7 at 2:00 p.m., bestselling author Marta McDowell will present All the Presidents’ Gardens — an exploration of the history of the White House through its grounds.
Learn about Lincoln’s goats, Ike’s putting green, and Kennedy’s roses — all of which have graced the eighteen acres surrounding the executive mansion. From George Washington’s seed collecting to Michelle Obama’s vegetable garden, the story of the Presidents’ gardens is also a story of our country.
The program takes place at the Hollis-Brookline High School. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online at www.hollisgardenclub.org. The price will be $15 at the door.
You can also send a check payable to the Hollis Garden Club, c/o Merrimack Garden Club, P.O. Box 426, Merrimack, NH 03054.
Marta McDowell’s books will be available for sale at the event.
This event is jointly sponsored by the Hollis Garden Club, Merrimack Garden Club, Milford Garden Club, and Nashua Garden Club.
