Tour Liz Barbour’s Garden June 26th

In 1999 Liz and Ted Barbour moved into Hollis’s oldest house located on the curve of a busy village street.  Once home to “Lockes Ice Cream”, The Daniel Emerson House (Circa 1744) provided the perfect setting and scale for Liz’s dream cottage garden.

Tucked into 1/3 of an acre, the Barbour’s edible gardens have been featured on New Hampshire Chronicle and in New Hampshire Magazine.  As the owner of Liz Barbour’s Creative Feast, Liz is a working chef and cooking instructor who shares her edible gardens in her lectures and prepares recipes in her cooking classes that feature edibles from her garden.  Meet Liz at her garden gate and enter into a delightfully delicious tour of her edible gardens.  Edible plants include: rhubarb, hibiscus, bee balm, amaranth, cabbage, broccoli, Egyptian onions, cucumbers, salad greens, lavender, kale, hops, gooseberry, apples, blackberries, and many, many more.  Glean some ideas about how you can incorporate edible flowers, herbs, vegetables, and fruits into your gardens to create a sustainable, edible landscape at your home.
