Home Gardening Series Offered at Beaver Brook Nature Center, Hollis

Beaver Brook Nature Center is offering a Home Garden Workshop Series, 7-9:00 p.m., Wednesdays, Sept. 9-Oct. 28.
Topics include: Vegetable & Fruit Garden Planning, Healthy Soil for Happy Plants, Garden Fertility, Composting, Container and Raised Bed Gardening, Weeds, Pests and Diseases, Season Extension and Building an Inexpensive Greenhouse, Storing the Harvest, and Closing Up the Garden. (Detailed schedule available on their web site.) Workshops are taught by popular teacher Ron Christie, UNH Cooperative Extension Agricultural Resources Program Assistant and owner of Living Earth Farm, a “certified organic” micro farm in Brookline, NH.

Cost is $10 per workshop ($15 per couple) or $75 for series of 8.
