December Program
Thursday, December 6
9 am to 1 pm
Amherst Fire Station, Amherst Street
Please be sure to sign up at the November meeting for this enjoyable workshop. It is a great way to begin the holiday season! It is also a perfect way to get some good advice, have fun, enjoy some soup and bread, and to go home with a finished wreath.
As everyone has different tastes in wreaths, we request that you bring your own materials. A list of suggestions is provided below. They are just suggestions—feel free to bring whatever you wish. We will provide a few “extras” that you are welcome to use.
Lois Boericke and Trese Gilligan have graciously offered to help with this workshop. Trese will bring some of her favorite wreath adornments to share, assorted greens and a completed Williamsburg-style wreath as an example. Lois will bring a wreath using natural, outdoor materials. Both will be happy to offer advice when asked. Marti Warren will bring some holly.
My prayers were answered when Lois offered to teach us how to make bows! She will bring red velvet ribbon for us to practice on. Please bring enough ribbon for your own bow—Lois recommends 3 yards for a generous bow.
Space is limited at the Fire Station so please sign up at the November meeting or email me at ssspiess@aol.com. Please indicate if you will be bringing soup, bread, a breakfast bread or cookies for dessert. This is not a complete luncheon—just a light lunch menu!
Hope to see you Dec. 6 at the main Fire Station!
